Hi, y'all! If you're here from the KK linkup, welcome! This post shows some photos of my absolute favorite place, Jekyll Island, Georgia. I'm a Social Studies teacher so I am naturally drawn to the history that Jekyll offers. I guess it doesn't hurt that this is where my husband and I were married in June, 2012! The hotel began as a private club for the richest men in America - Rockefeller, Morgan, Carnegie, etc, and a stay here feels like a step back in time. The staff at the hotel make sure your every want is fulfilled, the food is to die for, and there's always the perfect atmosphere whether you are looking for relaxation or fun! Take a look!
Okay, I promise this will be my last love fest post about Jekyll Island. Until next time, that is! I hope my posts have convinced you to visit if you've never been before. I promise you won't regret it!

Happy Friday, y'all! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I now really want to visit Jekyll Island! I love turtles, and the grounds look beautiful! What would be the best time of year to go?
ReplyDeleteGood! I've been successful in my attempt! I promise you won't regret it - even if you're not a history nerd like me - it's simply beautiful. I've been all four seasons and they are all great for different things. I think I'd suggest Spring - the rates are lower than summer but it's plenty warm enough to enjoy everything on the island! And not to mention the flowers around the historic district are to die for! I obviously recommend staying at the club but I know people who have enjoyed the Hampton Inn over on the ocean.
ReplyDeleteHere from KK. You saw such a different part of the island than I remember (as a child visiting)! We camped and mostly saw beaches and tourist traps--or at least that's the part I remember! We side tripped to Savannah for the history though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Kristy! I'm not sure when you went but I know there have been a lot of changes in the last few years! The hotel bought several of the old homes in the historic district and renovated them for additional rooms. The historic district is stunning! They have also torn down several old hotels in the past couple of years and have built nice, new, ones! The sea turtle center is relatively new also and they have added a nice conference center and are working on some new beach shops. It's a great little place to visit!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm visiting from Kelly's Korner. I was glad to see your like about Jekyll Island. I'm heading there in September for a business trip and I'll have a few extra days to do fun stuff. Looking forward to it after seeing this post.
