Sunday Social - Back to the basics

Since it's been a bit since I've blogged, I thought this looked like a good way to jump back in! Here it goes...

How did you come up with your blog name?

"It's a lovely day tomorrow, tomorrow is a lovely day,
Come and feast your tear-dimmed eyes
On tomorrow's clear blue skies,
If today your heart is weary, if every little thing looks gray,
Just forget your troubles and learn to say
Tomorrow is a lovely day."

I've been asked this before and forget that I've never shared how I came up with my blog name. In case you didn't know, I am an old soul with an old taste in music. I would much rather be listening to jazz, big band, and beach music than anything current! My blog title comes from a same titled tune written by Irving Berlin during the second World War. It was frequently performed by artists to lift moral for troops and folks back home during the war. I think the lyrics are simple, beautiful, and uplifting. I encourage you to watch this video all the way through. I love those old radio clips!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I love documenting the big and the small things that are happening in my life. I have never kept a consistent journal but I've always written a little here and there. I love blogging because I can use words, photos, or both to chronicle my life. I love looking back and reading about things I might have forgotten otherwise.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without?

Hmm... nothing material I think. I love checking my blog feed and reading what other bloggers are up to. I find blogging much more inspirational that other forms of social media. I follow religious, feminist, animal-loving, and mama blogs and I never find myself feeling worse after reading them. Only inspired to be better and do better. I like that.

Facebook or Twitter? And why?

Currently - Facebook. However, I hop back and forth. At the moment I'm considering deactivating my Facebook for a while for the above reasons. It can be very useful for keeping up with people, but lately I think it's bringing more negativity into my life than positivity. I hate how we all (myself included) create a false realm for ourselves and others. Also, I witness so many things that hurt my heart and I think I'd do better not knowing what everyone is up to. I think I need a break to work on only living my actual life, not the online version. Bookmark my blog to keep up!

If one celebrity read your blog who would you want it to be?

Jennifer Lawrence. Why? Because we would be best friends. Serious girl crush, y'all. I mean really...

What is something you want people to know about your blog?

These are tough, y'all! I hope I come off honest. Opinionated is okay, but not with hate. I know I am stubborn and thick-headed but it's only because I am so passionate about certain things in life. I want to help, make change, and give love. Sometimes I want to do those things so badly it gets ugly. The end.
