The best day ever.

I love snow. Like, really, really, really love snow. I crossed my fingers and did a serious snow dance when they started calling for it in Georgia today. We live northwest of Atlanta and we were originally at the tippy top of the forecast. I held out hope that we would get a miracle and see some snow in our yard! This is one time I was happy that the weather man was wrong.

It started snowing at our house before 10:00 this morning and didn't stop until about 4:00. We had a solid inch on the ground before the news had even caught up with our area. I'd say we have somewhere in the area of 3 inches. The ground is totally covered and we have already been outside to play!

My husband was supposed to go in to work tonight but he had to call out because there is no way he could make it in. There's a very steep hill at the entrance of our subdivision and it is literally impassable. There's a pileup of cars that tried to make it up the hill and didn't succeed. Some sweet men in our neighborhood have been using their four wheelers to shuttle folks to their houses for hours now. The roads are awful and I'm definitely praying for everyone who is still out there - especially those working to keep us safe and warm.

Now we are just sitting by the fire (which is newly working thanks to my awesome hubby), having some chili, and watching a movie. I love snow days!

Way back in December

I've been a bad photo taker lately and an even worse blogger! I have a hodge podge of random pictures from December so it's time for one last photo dump before I fully commit to welcoming 2014! You were a lovely month, December! I can't wait to greet you again this year!

Memory Jar

This is one thing I actually kept up with last year! We started putting scraps of paper in our memory jar this time last year and then added to it up until New Years Eve.

I used this large Mason jar that belonged to my grandmother and bought a small book of card stock at Hobby Lobby. I would tear out one page at a time and cut it into a few different shapes to write on with Sharpie.

Sometimes I wrote things as they happened and other times I would sit down and write a few things that had happened over the past few weeks or so. Either way it was a neat way to keep track of fun things that happened through out the year. It was so fun to read through them together at the end of the year!

Now's the perfect time to get started making your memory jar! No memory is too small to record. You won't regret it!
