February in photos

I haven't blogged much this month and that's because there hasn't been a whole lot going on! Can you believe that tomorrow is March? Seriously, who sped up the clock y'all? Tomorrow will be the end of week two of subbing EIP and I am loving it and learning so much! I am lucky to be working with some fantastic teachers who are always willing to help me. I need to keep a notepad to write down all the hilarious things the kids say - maybe I'll dedicate a post to that soon! Until then, here are a few photos from February.

The carrot cake Chris baked me for Valentines Day! It was SO yummy!

We watched our wedding videos for the first time on Blu Ray

I finally found an album big enough to hold all my printed wedding photos - obsessed much?

Found these two bird pillows for $8 each - regular $30 each - love them!

This was my first day subbing - cute bags make the day a little bit better!

Another shower for Beth followed by a bon fire celebration for Haley's college roommate, Kate

Meeting Dad to pick up Wolf - he was so happy!

Spending the day with my sweet dad - always a project underway!

More pillows - for the church pew! A steal for $9 each!

Lunch with Mom and Hal followed by a little shopping

My sweet snuggly Bizzy

A fun day with my boy!
Happy March, y'all!

Baby Love!

Long time, no see, y'all! Sorry for the lack of posting to all my devoted followers ;) Things have been busy lately but pretty uneventful. That's how I always feel about this time of year though. I survived my first week subbing EIP and really enjoyed it. I was just shadowing and learning the ropes for the most part. We had winter break this past week so it's back to the grind tomorrow. I'll start having my own pull-out groups this week so that will be interesting!

I've been under the weather this week with what I thought was just severe allergies. Turns out it was a bit more than that so some antibiotics knocked it right out and I'm feeling back to normal. It's funny how you don't realize how bad you feel until you start feeling better. Hopefully I've got the sickness out of the way and my littles won't pass anything else along to me! Hand sanitizer is my best friend.

A couple of weeks ago we went to a baby shower for Haley's best friend, Beth, and baby Luke. Beth has always been like a sister to me so it feels like he's one of ours. There are several pregnant ladies in my life right now and I am loving it! It's so much fun! This baby shower was the cutest thing ever so I had to share some pictures. Not much longer until he's here and we can't wait to meet him!

I adore these little blocks! I haven't seen any in a long time!

Somehow these flowers fit the theme perfectly!

So sweet and so yummy!

My sister's delicious chicken salad!
And her amazing fruit dip!

There's nothing I love more than shower food!
So cute!

Love this!

I'm so excited for all the babies coming! One more shower for B and then it really will be time for Luke to be here!

Have a great Sunday, y'all!

Day Two

Is it seriously only Tuesday, y'all? I thought it was Thursday! Deep breaths...

The past couple of weeks have been a total whirlwind - we have had so much going on. I subbed Kindergarten last Monday then signed up for a fifth grade job at a new school for Tuesday and Wednesday. I'll just be honest - substituting has put some interesting thoughts into my head.

I have always known without a shadow of a doubt that I wanted to teach middle school. I love those hormone driven, dramatic, romantical, crazy fools. However, all the time I've spent in Elementary lately has really made me think. I haven't committed to taking the GACE yet, but I'm considering it. It's never a bad thing to broaden your horizons, right?

Moving on - last Wednesday I had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. I think I'm a pretty good sub - everything has went pretty smooth up until this day. It was one of those days when I booked it out of the school parking lot, grabbed a coke, took some head ache meds, and parked it on the couch for the night with no intention of moving.

If my fantastic mentor teacher, Pierre, taught me anything it was to reflect every. single. day. As I was thinking back on what went well and what didn't my cell phone rang. I saw that it was the Elementary school I usually sub at so I answered it. The sub coordinator told me the principal had asked her to call me and offer me a long term job for the remainder of the school year. (sidebar - the principal knows who I am? What?) I adore this little school so I immediately said yes before I really even knew what I was getting into.

I started yesterday and these past two days have been wild! I'm doing EIP for K-3. I have seven blocks of kids and go non stop all day to make sure I service them all. Right now I'm just focusing on getting my schedule straightened out and ironing out the kinks with the kiddos schedules. Each block is different and I'm loving it. The day absolutely flies by! I'm working with some fantastic teachers and know this is going to be a one of a kind learning experience for me. Keep me and the kids in your prayers as I try to figure out what the heck I'm doing!

Operation Organization 2

I'm a big fan of glass containers. (I'm a big fan of anything glass, actually!) I have several different sizes and shapes around the house that I change around pretty frequently. Last post I showed one with Candy Hearts in it for Valentine's Day. I have another with ticket stubs and mementos we've collected since Chris and I started dating eight years ago.

I love the idea of using glass in the bathroom but haven't seen anything that I really wanted to do, or had room to do right now. When I saw this on Pinterest, shocker, I knew I had to do it in our guest bathroom. I have so many travel sized items around the house that I can't part with but I don't know what to do with! So first I went on a hunt in every make-up bag, drawer, basket, and box to gather up all of them I could find.

I was surprised at how many good things I found! Of course there was a ton of Bath and Body Works, some Aveda products, Clinique lotions and face washes, and Bulgari shampoo and conditioner from our Honeymoon. I put them all in this wide glass container with a lid and sat it on the counter in the guest bathroom. I really love how it looks! There really is everything you could ever need in there! Plus, I love knowing where they are if I ever need one.

The jar is a bit big for the small cabinet but eventually I would like it on a shelf on the wall. Knowing my clumsy self, I'll end up knocking if off the counter! Let's hope that doesn't happen!

Valentime's Day

Yes, I still refer to it as Valentime's Day. Old habits die hard, y'all! Well, I haven't got much for you in the way of Valentine's decorations but I'll show you what I have. This is actually the most I've ever done so you should be proud of me!

Sorry for the lack of posting - things have been a little hectic around here. I've been subbing a lot and Chris has been working as usual. We headed home to Habersham last weekend and had a great time visiting our families. However, Chris got sick over the weekend and is just getting over it. He is never sick so it always really bothers me. I'll try to find some more interesting things to blog about soon!

If you can't tell I have a serious love for candy hearts. If you missed my candy hearts wreath tutorial, check it out and make one for yourself! I love it so much!

I was having so much fun hot gluing candy to make my wreath I decided to glue hearts to this frame I don't use anymore! I like how it turned out!

Our 2013 Memory Jar - such a cute and fun idea!

Happy Tuesday, y'all!
